SPORTICO: Liberty Merch Becomes Fanatics’ Fastest Post-Finals Seller

Fanatics announced Monday that its previous all-time, 30-day, post-WNBA Finals sales record was broken by the new champion New York Liberty, whose championship merchandise became the fastest selling in league history in fewer than 24 hours.

Fanatics’ announcement via X/Twitter came less than 16 hours after the final buzzer sounded at Barclays Center in Brooklyn as the Liberty defeated the Minnesota Lynx in overtime of a winner-take-all Game 5. The previous record was in 2021 when the Chicago Sky, led by hometown legend Candace Parker, won their first championship over the Phoenix Mercury.

A Fanatics spokesperson told Sportico that among the five best-selling products are a shirt designed by apparel maker Stadium Essentials, a hoodie from black women-owned streetwear brand Playa Society and a “special event” white shirt from Nike that will be worn during the upcoming parade, featuring the arm of Lady Liberty holding the torch while adorning a championship ring…
