SPORTS BUSINESS JOURNAL: Fanatics Sportsbook, MLBPA ink licensing deal

The business arm of the MLBPA has reached a non-exclusive licensing agreement with Fanatics, making it the first officially licensed sportsbook of MLB Players, Inc.

The pact comes amid a September lawsuit filed by the union against FanDuel, DraftKings, bet365 and Underdog Fantasy, alleging that the sport betting and daily fantasy companies used player images without having a licensing agreement.

The MLBPA declined comment on its lawsuit. However, it’s possible, because of the non-exclusive deal with Fanatics, it could be open to reaching agreements with the others…
