Kynetic is the newest chapter in Rubin’s storied career as one of the country’s most successful and respected entrepreneurs. The company launched on the heels of eBay’s $2.4 billion acquisition of GSI Commerce, Inc. Over a 12-year period, Rubin and his team built GSI into a global network of e-commerce, multi-channel and digital marketing businesses servicing 150 of the top 500 Internet retailers.
Fueled by a true passion for building consumer internet businesses, Rubin formed Kynetic which consists of three previously owned GSI companies: Fanatics, a leading online retailer of licensed sports merchandise; Rue La La, a leading online private sale destination in the U.S.; and ShopRunner, an innovative members-only service that aggregates shopping benefits from the top retailers and brands.
Rubin began building businesses at age 12, when he opened a ski-tuning company in his parents’ basement. His success as an entrepreneur was showcased in the inaugural season of CBS’ hit show “Undercover Boss,” as well as highlighted in numerous media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, CNN, The New York Times, BusinessWeek and People.
